Greetings from Brasil 3/30/15

Dear Family,


Sorry for the delay in sending this letter. Recently, when we get to the church to use the internet, we spend most of our time trying to locate the addresses of referrals using Google and lds.org. Sometimes, this can take a lot of time as we try to decipher an Americanized address into its Portuguese equivalent. This past week we received about 130 referrals from throughout the mission for distribution to the Elders and Sisters. The missionaries are having success as they focus on asking for and following up on referrals. Speaking of which, I had the opportunity to speak in Sacrament Meeting on Sunday. At the end of my talk, I asked for at least 5 referrals from each person in attendance. The four Elders were inundated with referrals that will require follow up in the coming days.


The coming Sunday is Easter as well as General Conference of the Church. We look forward to receiving the conference live by satellite transmission.


For Easter, the Church has posted a short video (3 minutes) about Christ and his mission on the earth. It is a great resource for you to share with your friends and neighbors. This past week, we took a road trip to Cordisburg to visit the Maquiné Cave. It is supposed to be one of the best in Brazil. While waiting for our bus home, we had the chance to hike a short distance in the surrounding country. The area was filled with various species of butterflies and the graded road was full of large pieces of quartz.


Our Mission President offered us the opportunity to attend the temple in São Paulo. We plan to go the week of April 20.
