Greetings from Brasil 1/15/2015

Dear Family,
We have had an exciting start to the new year with our recent transfer. We are now located in the center of the city. The ward boundaries extend through downtown and into the surrounding hills. The area is a contrast of very rich and very poor. Today, we began teaching in the more humble region of the city. The chapel of the Santa Lucia Ward is on the site of the original LDS chapel in Belo Horizonte.

We met with the mission president last week regarding our new assignment. In addition to our work in the Santa Lucia Ward, he wants us to organize and follow up on referrals throughout the mission. As a result, part of our time will be spent on the internet at the chapel. We will have some air conditioning during the hot afternoons. One of our opportunities is to track responses to pass along cards. Requests for DVDs , copies of the Book of Mormon, and other resources arrived in the mission office without follow up. We developed a training presentation for upcoming Zone meetings and have begun to work through a process that is already resulting in positive results.

That's all for now.
Love,
Dad/Cliff
